Let me take you back to a specific day in my career.

My to-do list was full. My coffee was strong. And my will to survive that day’s chaos was hanging on by a thread.

Before lunchtime, I had already handled two employee issues, fixed a client mess someone else made, and jumped into three back-to-back meetings. None of which I had time to prepare for. (Don’t act like you don’t know what that feels like…)

By 3 pm? I was drained.

By 5 pm? I had accomplished nothing from my actual list.

And I remember sitting there thinking, “How in the WORLD is this sustainable?”

The truth was—it wasn’t.

But here’s the kicker: I thought this kind of fire-fighting made me look like a strong leader.

Turns out, it just made me look busy… not valuable.

The Moment Everything Changed

That day, I had a realization. And it smacked me upside the head like a screen door in a hurricane.

Leadership isn’t just about doing more. It’s about becoming more—on the inside.

I had spent so much time trying to prove myself through action that I forgot to develop myself as a person.

What I really needed wasn’t another checklist.

I needed to reconnect with my strengths, my purpose, and my power.

They’re serving everyone else’s needs… and silencing their own.

They’re so focused on being the “go-to person” that they forget to grow into the leader they were born to be.

Maybe a little.

But friend, it’s said with love—and because I’ve been there.

3 Key Actions to Get Unstuck Right Now

Alright, let’s talk about what you can do today to start shifting out of stuck and into strong, confident leadership.

These are 3 of the 7 steps I walk through in my course—and yes, they work, because I’ve lived them myself.

Clarity is where your confidence is born.

1. Listen Inward First: When was the last time you checked in with you? We’re always listening to deadlines, to bosses, to team drama, to KPIs… but when was the last time you asked yourself:

“What do I really want from my career?”

“What makes me feel alive at work?”

“What drains me faster than a cell phone on 1%?”

Self-awareness is not fluff—it’s strategy.

Clarity is where confidence is born. Because when you know who you are, you stop chasing roles that don’t fit—and start claiming ones that do.

2. Own Your Voice: I used to sit in meetings with GREAT ideas… and say nothing. I’d second-guess myself. Wait for someone else to say it first. Then kick myself later when my idea came out of someone else’s mouth and got a round of applause.

Can I get an amen?

At some point, I had to stop shrinking. I had to remind myself: My voice is not optional—it’s essential.

Yours is too.

You’ve got thoughts, solutions, insight, and intuition that can move people forward. But none of that helps if you don’t speak up.

Start with one idea. One suggestion. One brave moment. And watch your influence grow.

3. Shift from Tasks to Transformation: Being the most productive person in the room is NOT the same as being the most valuable. Value comes when you stop measuring your worth by your completed checklist—and start measuring it by your impact.

I had to stop asking, “What did I get done today?” and start asking:

“Who did I support today?”

“What problem did I help solve?”

“How did I make someone else’s day better?”

Because leadership is never about being the busiest person in the office. It’s about being the one who makes a difference.
